For health insurance companies, funding tea baggers and Republicans have paid off hansomly

Why can’t we get a health care bill passed that will cover all Americans and bring down cost? This year alone the major health care industries had a profit increase of 56 %. That’s a good return on their investment in funding Tea Baggers activities and buying off Republicans and some Democrats who have intentionlally blocked any kind of health care reform.
Why would a for profit industry that makes that kind of money off of our health care want any reforms that would slow down their gravy train? Why would they care about the death of the uninsured and underinsured? These people are in it for the money not for saving lives or helping people get good health care. Money is the bottom line.
According to The Wichita Eagle, the 2009 profit for health insurers rose 56%.

From The Wichita Eagle:

” As the nation struggled last year with rising health care costs and a recession, the five largest health insurance companies racked up combined profits of $12.2 billion — up 56 percent over 2008, according to a new report by health care activists.
Based on company financial reports for 2009 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the report said insurers WellPoint Inc., UnitedHealth Group, Cigna Corp., Aetna and Humana Inc. covered 2.7 million fewer people than they did the year before.”

And these companies can rely on the ignorance and foolish beliefs of the Tea Baggers, their own black-shirt style shock troops. I have to wonder, are these people really this stupid?
