The truth hurts--Images of a dead bin Laden still dangerous: U.S. lawyers

Assassinating, Osama bin Laden, an accused mastermind of an anti-American paramilitary group has its draw backs, according to US lawyers on behalf of the country.

US Special Forces assassinated Laden 20 months ago and US lawyers claim they are not ready to release images yet of the dead body.

According to Yahoo News the lawyers are still worried that Islamic militants may attack or try and kill US citizens or soldiers somewhere in the world.

And according to Yahoo;

“A federal appeals court heard arguments in a lawsuit over whether the government must release the images under the Freedom of Information Act, a 1966 law that guarantees public access to some government records.
President Barack Obama's administration points to an exception in the law that covers documents classified in the interest of national defense.”

 So does the public have a right to know what happens or does the US government have a right to cover up its activity that its members believe will harm or embarrass them? The argument is still going on, although it could go on for more than a year.

There have already been lots of plots foiled by police of people who already hate this country enough to kill a lot of people. Most are already Islamic. Such people may never gain the respect and admiration our military leaders and our president believe they deserve. So they may as well show the picture. It won’t really change anything.
