Kansas Peace groups protest Bradley Manning’s incarceration

From

Members of the Peace and Social Justice Center of South Central Kansas are planning a protest against the incarceration of Bradley Manning, who helped expose human rights violations, in the Iraq War to Wikileaks.
This is important because Manning has been moved to the prison in Leavenworth, KS. The protest has been planned for June 4.
From the Bradley Manning Support Network;
Bradley Manning has been moved to Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas. His attorney has confirmed that his conditions have dramatically improved now: he is now held among the general prison population, with the ability to talk to others, read books and newspapers, watch TV, exercise, and is no longer stripped naked. Read the press release from the Bradley Manning Support Network.
After almost a year in confinement, the Army is expected to announce Manning’s fist public hearing, an article 32 pre-trial proceeding, which will be held in the Washington DC area.
Besides the Wichita group, other organizations will come from around the country. Manning made public a military film of a helicopter shooting civilians and firing into a van with children in it. He has also released other information that has been posted on Wikileaks.
The government under Barack Obama has allowed Manning to be treated as a war criminal for releasing embarrassing information that our military and government didn’t want us to know. They claim it was classified, but it is obvious that the US government has been violating human rights in the Iraq and Afghanistan War and our government doesn’t want the public to know. That is why groups around the country are coming together to help free Manning.
