The Republicans want it made clear that they and they alone are the only ones who believe American criminals are more valued than some non-citizen-sub-human terrorist who was never born here in the USA.
President Barack Obama plans to try Abu Anas al-Libi, (أبو أنس الليبي) an al Qaida member, here in the US for his alleged terrorist activities.
According to ABC News;
“Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, the Armed Services Committee's top Republican, says providing Abu Anas al-Libi the same rights as Americans is "despicable." Republican Rep. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, House Judiciary's chairman, says the approach raises numerous concerns.”
Just as European white folks came to the North American Continent and deemed the Natative American Indians as “heathen savages” that did not have the same rights as white people, Republicans seem to see people from the Middle-east the same way. It seems that “God blessed America” but not the Middle-east—so those who are from there are not blessed and not deserving of the human rights that are a privilege for US citizens only. And they find it outrageous to treat these people with the same respect as their American counter parts.
ABC NEWS also reported; “Some want him sent to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay.”
So while some of us are trying to shut down this concentration camp—which clearly violates human rights—some Republicans want to expand it to include new people who will be denied a trial and the rights any accused person deserves.
