War continues in India

The Maoist People’s war is still going strong:

RANCHI: Maoists blew up a police jeep on Saturday by triggering a landmine that killed 11 cops near Burudih dam in Ghatshila area of East Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. Those killed included a sub-inspector, three havildars, six constables and the jeep driver.

Jharkhand Police spokesperson S N Pradhan said the team led by Digha police picket in-charge sub-inspector Ravi Kant Sinha was returning after a long-range patrol of the jungle near the dam around 1.30pm.

"The team had almost reached the National Highway 33 when the Maoists, who were waiting for the police party, triggered the blast, killing all the occupants of the jeep on the spot," he said. The intensity of the blast was so severe that the jeep was completely damaged and a huge crater of more than five feet was formed on the spot.
