CNN exposes new dangers from gulf oil spill

BP oil spill –new dangers surface

From Wichita Peace and Freedom Party Examiner:

Since the oil leak from the BP owned platform in the Gulf of Mexico began, it has been an ecological nightmare and possibly one the worst man made disaster of modern humans. Besides the mess along the beach, the waist of fossil fuel, the economic disaster to the fishing and tourist industry, there are dangerous problems that are just now coming to light. The latest is a report from CNN:

A dire report circulating in the Kremlin today that was prepared for Prime Minister (Vladimir) Putin by Anatoly Sagalevich of Russia's Shirshov Institute of Oceanology warns that the Gulf of Mexico sea floor has been fractured “beyond all repair” and our World should begin preparing for an ecological disaster “beyond comprehension” unless “extraordinary measures” are undertaken to stop the massive flow of oil into our Planet’s eleventh largest body of water….
…According to Sagalevich’s report, the oil leaking into the Gulf of
Mexico is not just coming from the 22 inch well bore site being shown on American television, but from at least 18 other sites on the “fractured seafloor” with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank and is spewing into these precious waters an estimated 2 million gallons of oil a day…

The political fallout for this disaster has been mild so far. There has been some finger-pointing by some politicians, but there needs to be a lot more. For too many years politicians have told the voter what he/she want to hear and not what they need to hear. We have overdependence on fossil fuels and we have allowed corporations such as BP to cut corners and ignore safety problems in an effort to keep the cheap gas spigots flowing. Now we are all paying for it, so it’s time that certain politicians pay.
Some people are already forming groups to finger those who have allowed BP to get an easy ride for all the damage they have caused. One group on face book calls itself Vote out BP oil puppets! The list! Here is a list of BP’s top supporters in Congress today:
1 Joe Barton- TX
2 Lisa Murkowski-Alaska
3 David Vitter- Loiusiana
4 James Inhofe-Oklahoma
5 Jeff Sessions- Alabama
6 Mitch McConnell- Kentucky
7 Mary Landrieu- Louisiana
8 Michele Bachmann- Minnesota
9 Blanche Lincoln- Arkansas
Let’s not forget Sarah Palin who came up with the campaign slogan “drill baby, drill.”
Instead of taking back such reckless advice she tried to blame ecologist for keeping them from drilling in more places. The woman just can’t seem to make a logical statement.

The system can’t fix this man made disaster
Since this site goes beyond liberalism and the obvious “vote the bums out” line of thinking, we can add that the system is clearly at fault here. We as Maoists know that we can’t fix this problem just by voting some politicians out. We won’t vote them out anyway because they will use other fears to distract voters and allow them to forget the damage they have done. What BP did is just part of a political pattern that goes with US oil corporations. BP does what they all do. BP just got caught. Most politicians have dirty oil on their hands (excuse the pun) and finding a politician who isn’t guilty of supporting this systemic recklessness will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

That is why we look to a revolution in the long run. Our political system is broke and it needs extensive fixing. -សតិវ អតុ
