The conflict within Unified CPN Maoist has now trapped in the ministerial profile. According to the party sources the debate has not been resolved because the politburo member Pampha Bhusal, who is close to senior vice-chairman Mohan
Baidhya ‘Kiran’, has been demanding either ministry for communication and information or the ministry for health. Sources also claimed that the Kiran faction has prohibited Jayapuri Gharti and Mahendra Paswan from taking oath of office because Bhusal was not appointed minister.
Kiran faction is facing problem because leader Bhusal said she won’t accept any other ministry than the ministry of communication. However, the faction has been proposing its minister for tourism and civil aviation Khadga Bahadur Biswokarma as minister for communication and information, a pro-Kiran leader claimed. Similarly, an employee of Health ministry said leader Bhusal has stalled projects of the ministry directing the employees of the ministry not to follow the instructions of health minister Shakti Basnet because she was coming at the ministry soon. Such bargaining for the powerful ministries by the pro-Kiran leaders, who are focusing on people’s revolt, seems contradictory.
