Occupy Koch Town coming to Wichita

 From Wichita Peace and Freedom Party Examiner;
Kansans may see one of the largest Occupy demonstrations since the movement began in New York, Feb. 17 through 19, with Occupy Koch Town. Wichita is the headquarters for the Koch Industries. People in this town and many people throughout the country are tired of Charles and David Koch, and their multi-millionaire PACs, buying elections, just to get business favors from politicians and push for changes that help the wealthy at the expense of the poor..
Organizers for the event include Occupiers, Sierra club members from all over Kansas and surrounding states. The goal it to get at least 1000 people to come and hear discussions on energy, environmental and climate policies.
Organizers hope to counter the Koch Brothers think tank, the Kansas Policy Institute,which has been openly hostile to the environment. Most of the speakers will be at Wichita State University. Some Occupiers will camp at the park on Douglas near Broadway, where many occupiers have already used the site as a headquarters.

The event will start Friday, February 17 and participants will meet during the afternoon and evening in the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University for early registration, orientation, and a First Nations welcome. The program will start at 7pm. For a full schedule of events click here. Other information can be found on the Occupy Koch Town web site.
