Defend the life of President Gonzalo

Joint declaration:

Since September 1992, President Gonzalo,(Abimael Guzmán) leader of the revolution in

Peru is held hostage in complete isolation.

Corrupt and genocidal schemes have occurred in Peru,

supported by imperialism, mainly Yankee.

In all these years the Peruvian ruling class and imperialist have

constantly tried to smear his revolutionary integrity,

presenting Gonzalo as head of the capitulation rather than revolution, but

always denied the right to speak publicly and make known

his position. Today the government is intensifying the threat to his physical integrity and life.

September 24 is the 21st anniversary of his masterful

speech, delivered from the obscene cage which was introduced by the Fujimori regime, in order to humiliate him in front of the international press.

In all these years we have never given up the defense of this discourse and

President Gonzalo, to support PCP (Communist Party of Peru). Now, as the People's War

in Peru suffers a phase of serious difficulty and struggle, we support colleagues in Peru and

carry forward the ideology, line and practice-

People's War championed by President Gonzalo, as stated in the

1st Congress Party, of which this is the 25th anniversary.

On  Sept. 24, President Gonzalo stated loud and clear:

"We are here as children of the people and are fighting in these

trenches, which are also trenches of combat and we do it because we are

Communists!, Because here we are defending the interests of the people,

principles of the Party and the People's War. That's what we do, what

we are doing and will continue to do! ...

The road is long and we shall arrive and succeed! .

What do we need? We need Maoism to be incarnated and generating Communist Parties to drive—to lead this

new great wave of world proletarian revolution that is coming. "

These words continue today, to be the benchmark to advance

Peru and it is of great importance in the world. As communists, we renew our

determination to defend the life of Chairman Gonzalo and oppose

imperialism and reaction in Peru, to defend the PCP and

the People's War.
