Paul Robeson was a dedicated leftist

Paul Robeson was an American Icon during the 1930s and 1940s. He was an internationally renowned American basso profundo, concert singer, scholar, actor of film and stage, All-American professional athlete, and writer. He was always to the left and as a supporter of the Communist Party USA, he was hounded during the 1950’s Red Scare period. For a time, he was blacklisted.
