Free Syrian Army spreads its war into Lebanon and beyond
The war in Syria is now spreading beyond its
borders. That was not really that surprising since the Free Syrian Army has
already aided Turkey in its war against Kurdish rebels. Now the FSA is shelling
Hezbollah in Lebanon.
At the same time Yahoo News reported
U.S.
Secretary of State John
Kerry on Tuesday urged NATO allies to boost their assistance to the Syrian opposition.
NATO now wants to use Syria as a
spring board for further military adventures against perceived enemies of the
empire.
According
to The Times of Israel; For
the first time since the outbreak of unrest in Syria, the Free Syrian Army
(FSA) on Thursday announced that it had retaliated against what it claimed were
Hezbollah hostilities and bombarded the group’s interests inside Lebanon.
The Syrian rebel organization
said in a statement that FSA forces had launched two attacks against Hezbollah
in northern Lebanon’s Hermel province.
The FSA has
been closely allied with Turkey and gets a lot of aid from that country and the
US. It is no surprise they are now acting as imperial agents and attacking
enemies of both its backing countries. For some time analysts have warned that
the war in Syria will not stay confined to its borders. Now we see that
happening. The FSA has accused Hezbollah of supporting the Bashar al-Assad Regime. This is just one more
example why progressives should oppose the FSA as an agent of imperialism army
and not a liberation movement. -សតិវអតុ
