Efforts are underway to stop NRA from bullying Colorado politicians

As with most right-wing ass-holes, the NRA has worked tirelessly and used every dirty trick known to politics and the press to try and get rid of two Colorado  Democratic state senators who voted for some minor gun laws that group didn’t like. Because these senators stood up to the NRA  bullies, the NRA started a recall effort and  are now trying to replace them with the usual right-wing-mean-spirited anti-worker Republicans who now dominated this country already.

By recalling two Democratic state senators in Colorado, the NRA is trying to create a "wave of fear" nationwide that will intimidate any state legislators who dare stand up to them.

And the NRA has a key ally in their fight: a local newspaper in Colorado called The Pueblo Chieftain. Here is what the Chieftain general manager told Angela Giron, one of the two Democratic state senators facing recall, just before the vote on the new gun safety laws:
"I want you to know that I'm not only in charge of the newspaper but every piece of news that goes out, and I don't like these gun laws, and I don't want you to vote for them."

Three top staffers at the Pueblo Chieftain all signed the recall petition against Sen. Giron, and they have used every opportunity to give her bad press.

KRDO Channel 13, the local ABC television affiliate where recalls are underway, uses the Pueblo Chieftainas their "news partner" for the recall elections—even going so far as to have a TV correspondent report straight from the Chieftain newsroom.

This is an outrageous case of bias in media. The right-wing owners of the Pueblo Cheiftain can't be persuaded to cover the recall elections fairly, but a respected news outlet like ABC should not be partnering with them.
