Finally after years of inaction by the Bikram Chand-led CPN-M,[1],
we see some movement for the revolution. The CPN-M broke away from the Prachanda
led UCPN-M[2] a
few years ago, after Prachanda settled for a position in the new bourgeois
democracy that was formed after the end of the last insurgency in 2008.
The Chand faction broke away to pursue a more revolutionary
line and a continuation of the revolution that never really seemed to come together.
The importance of all of this is that the socialist
revolution that Chand and his crew called for never came to be and his group
has been stuck, since that time, with no real plan of action.
And finally we see some action on the CPN-M's part. It may
seem a small step, but it is a bold one and holds out some hope that Nepal 's
revolution is not yet down and out.
This is great news and a possible first step in reviving the
stalled revolution we have all been waiting for.
