Punjab StudentsUnion and Naujwan
Bharat Sabha resurrected the sacred torch of martyrs of Jallianwallah Bagh on
April 13th, on centenary
of the massacre. The
speakers addressed issue
of imperialism, fake
Internationalism and Hindu fascism
in detail. The event was
the culmination of a series of meetings,
rallies and cultural programmes in college campuses and youth areas all
over Punjab . The speakers resolved to carry
out the anti-imperialist mission of Shamed
Bhagat Singh.5000 students and youth thronged in from all over Punjab from 25 areas,
like many streams flowing into a river.
Of great relevance with Hindutva fascism reaching it's helm today and
for the need of an organized secular youth and student movement to defeat it.
The false agenda of nationalism was exposed which was promoting war hysteria and hysteria against Kashmiri people andPakistan . The gross attacks on
minorities and dalits was exposed,
particularity on youth. In
depth the anti-imperialist aspect in Jallianwallah Bagh was covered
exposing the pro-British role of the Congress. They narrated the burning economic issues gripping the youth
like fee-hike, transport, unemployment price rise etc.
Programme spoke volumes of the dedication of the PSU-NBS comrades in building a genuine secular revolutionary movement in the campuses and connecting them with the oppressed peasantry. In recent years they have held many a struggle on a variety of student problems like opposing fee-hike and bus fare hikes as well as for giving scholarships to dalit students No doubt amongst the best sons
