From The
Idiot Factor:
According to Boing Boing the
classic Christmas ditty "Happy Xmas" By John Lennon is now protected
from the public for being "offensive content." So what is offensive
about it? I have posted this song almost every year since I’ve had my blog,
since 2015.
Now a person has to sign in and
declare they are 18 or older. So why is this? What could be offensive about
this video? The only thing I can tell is that it is some what anti-war in a
time when war is very popular. It is sad commentary that a video that provides
a positive anti-war message is considered “offensive content.” So here is the
video that I have posted year after year with no complaints. –SJ Otto
Robbo sez, "As is my wont, I post on social media at this time of
year John Lennon & Yoko Ono's Happy Xmas (War Is Over) official YouTube
video. It is an anthem for peace and the end of war. This year it has been
labelled as "inappropriate content" and requires viewers to sign in
to confirm they are 18 years or older. Yes, there are images of war and
suffering within the video - but for cryin' out fuckin' loud, YouTube, it's
something that deserves and should be seen and heard by everyone, all the
damned time - such dumb ass fuckery is going to be the end of our so-called
civilization."
