Iraq and Afghanistan –“Keep the destruction, plunder and innocent deaths over there" argue the pro-war side

What could be more cowardly than supporters of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq insisting they want to fight the terrorists over there? Another way of looking at it is that they want all the destruction, the death of people’s children and family members, the destruction of homes, the lack of decent water, electricity and the basic necessities denied the people of first Iraq and now Afghanistan. Many Afghamistanis are caught in the middle of a war that they didn’t ask for. The US insists that stopping the Taliban is the only way to stop al Qaeda from moving back and launching attacks on the US.
It’s our problem but the people of the Middle-east are the ones paying for it. We don’t mind sending off our best young men and women to sacrifice for the convenience of the rest of us. We can relax in our comfortable homes, know our children are relatively safe and we can drive our gas guzzling cars without worrying about all those other poor people who have no guarantee that their homes, families and other conveniences could end at any moment.
