Heroes of the Right—Feet of clay!

While there are many people across the country trying to develop revolutionary strategies for revolution and reshaping this society, others as myself have spent more time tearing down the hollow heroes of the right.

There are many, such as Ronald Reagan who was never heard of when he left office because he had aAlzheimer. He had it while in office and yet there are navel ships and an airport named after him.

Some heroes such as Richard Nixon where largely discredited due to him breaking laws and endangering democracy. And yet people like him keep coming along.

Leaders of the Religious Right get caught with prostitutes, some times even boys. Republicans spouting family values spend their money on strip clubs.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is one of the Right’s favourite woman conservative. And yet she has posed for nude pictures. Rush Limbaugh is another darling of the far right pundits and he got addicted to OxyContin.

Of the Republican party, Parker J. Bena was a Republican activist and a key player in the campaign to elect George W. Bush as President; Bob Barr is the Republican Congressman from Georgia who sponsored the anti-gay Defence of Marriage Act;
Randal David Ankeney is the Republican activist who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child with force. The List goes on and on.

And yet people still elect and admire these people. They can preach family values, but they can’t live up to them. The problem is they want to violate human nature and they can’t lead the lives they promote for others to live by.

The Republican lead country is based on leaders with clay feet. When they talk of morality, it is like hearing a Sunday school lesson given by drunken prostitutes.

And when it comes to money, they openly preach and practice greed. The message is “If most of us got what we want, fuck everyone else.” We are one of the greediest, egocentric countries in the world. And our leaders encourage this.

It is not that hard to expose out phoney leaders for what they are. Governor Scott Walker will be exposed as the Charlatan his is. He will not be a hero as Ronald Reagan was. That is fancy dreaming.

While I welcome new ideas on how to change society, I will also remind people WHY we need to change society. Many of us are not socialists because we think it is a better system, we believe that capitalism just doesn’t work and we have no choice but to seek a better system. -សតិវ អតុ
