Anti and pro abortion forces fight over the return of abortion

According to The Wichita Eagle, Julie Burkhart, executive director of the St. Louis-based lobbying group Trust Women, said she hopes to open a clinic that offers first-trimester abortions health services in Wichita in about a year.
The paper also reported she said she has already raised 25 percent of the $500,000 she believes it will take to open a clinic in Wichita. Two doctors have already shown an interest in working a clinic, LeRoy Carhart, a doctor who once performed abortions in Nebraska and recently, physician Mila Means.
Troy Newman, president of the Wichita-based anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, has dismissed Burkhart’s efforts. According to the Facebook page for Maggot Punks, “What has Troy done lately except send out another plea for money to prosecute Planned Parenthood? Troy has nobody to protest, he's irrelevant”

There are fewer providers, fewer clinics, more restrictions, and more protesters.  But abortion is legal.  Trust Women is working to reverse the trends.
Wichita has a tradition of a strong women’s movement and the groups as Operation Rescue (which is still under investigation for helping Scott Roeder murder George Tiller) are going to have to face up to that and stop wining like a bunch of cry-babies.
