NRA comes up with the most moronic solution to the gun problem

The National Rifle Association is out to prove it is made up of mostly idiots as they come up with the most preposterous and moronic plans to deal with gun violence in the schools.

Fox News Reports; Immediately following the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre told reporters, supporters and a few vocal protesters, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

“Why is the idea of a gun good when it’s used to protect our president or our country or our police, but bad when it’s used to protect our children in their schools? They’re our kids,” he said.

But he doesn’t speak for everyone’s children. Many of us don’t want gun nuts running around our schools.

They have also proposed citizen patrols, without government aid, because those NRA folks don’t believe in using the government for anything except spying on working people and mammoth incarceration rates. They have suggested arming teachers. As a working teacher I find that hugely offensive. If a teacher feels a need to come into a school armed they need to pick another profession. I don’t know of any teachers that feel they need guns to do their job. And if there is violence, teachers are the last people that should take to shooting people. Students look up to them for adult behavior and playing with guns doesn’t fit that category.

Many NRA members believe they can train people to walk on school patrols. To get a conceal carry license in Kansas, people only need to take target practice. They may throw in a John Wayne Movie or two, but that is likely to be all they train people to do—shoot suspects and kill them before the police arrive. This is not much different than the Trayvon Martin case.

The NRA is always doing all it can to counter any and all gun control, even common sense practices such as background checks. These people worship guns and the right to own guns is the only rights they believe in. They seem to relish the thought of killing off criminals as if they were a regular Cowboy Duke.

The gun debate can do without the morons of the NRA.
