How does the US respond to an alleged terrorist
threat in the continental US? It is quite simple—we just launch terrorist attacks
on our own. To hell with international laws—none of that applies to the most
powerful and sophisticated army in the world.
Those who have power do what they want and according
to the Huff
Post;
“There have
been nine
drone strikes reported in Yemen in the past two weeks – an uptick
apparently connected to the Al Qaeda threat that shut down U.S. embassies across the Middle East and
Africa.”
The Huff Post article
looks into compensation payments to innocent bystanders of these drone
attacks. Again from the Huff Post:
“But CIA director John Brennan said during his confirmation process in February that the U.S.
does offer condolence payments to the families of civilians killed in U.S.
strikes. (Both the military and CIA fly drones over Yemen.)”
The real question is why this country needs to lash
out at people and kill them randomly? Yes terrorists, such as Al Qaeda do that,
yet we give off the appearance the US is above doing that. But the US is not—far
from it—the US is one of the most militaristic and terrorists nations around
today. Nothing this country does is peaceful and there is no attempt at
diplomacy or peaceful resolution of any national questions. The US is like a beehive
of hornets that just reacts to being hit with a stick. No intelligent solutions
are sought. Jut naked aggression—and apparently the logic is “we will do this
because we can.”
