The Maoist have lost a valuable comrade: Chuck Blackmon

I new Chuck blackmon for years. he attended many of my parties with his wife from Nicaragua. He was a devout Maoist his entire life. The struggle against the capitolist system will never seem the same without him. He was a great friend of mine. The following was written by my friend Fern M. Van Gieson:

" Dear Mary - I feel a number of people on your email network will want to > know about this. Please send a message out for me.> > Chuck died on last Thursday morning following a battle with cancer and> before and during that Photo Stolen from the Wichita Eagle

we're creating automatons

I was reading a letter in The Wichita Eagle about the state of our education system and I immediately new what the writer was taking about. As a person who has worked for years in the school system, I too have noticed the arts, music, etc. and history are disappearing from the school system. It's not just a Wichita or Kansas phenomena, it's largely due to the "no child left behind" philosophy, devised by our president.Schools are encouraged to focus heavy on English and language arts, math and science. What a coincidence that that is what our corporations have complained we need, so our future students can work at any job.
There was a time when an education meant a rounded out person who knew the basics of the world around him or her, such as Geography, art, music, history and political science. Those days are over. As the letter writer quoted a principal she talked to "Music and arts are weeds in the garden of education." The writer also said "No question that literacy and math are key in being able to function in society." She also noticed that arts and social studies are being hit bad and being neglected from our country's schools.
What President Valium Head and others like him want is a society of automatons who can function in society and hold down any job. But they will be ignorant of their past culture and own history, especially world history.
Here in Wichita (again I stress this is not unique to the rest of the country) a student is required one year of either geography, world history or world culture. One of the semesters is actually an elective which means a student can drop that second semester and still get a high school degree.
Recently I saw a Youtube footage put together by some English speaking country doing interviews in the US where some people couldn't tell him the national religion of Israel, one person couldn't tell him what religion Buddhist Monks belong to and of course their knowledge of Mid-east religions where just as bad.
They also asked Americans what nation we should invade next and many said Iran or North Korea.
We are the last empire left on earth, so this film clipped made us look like absolute fools. But who's fault is that. Look into the eyes of our president. He may be the future of America. A functioning automaton without out the ability to reason or think.
It reminds me of an ant colony. They do everything we do. They build elaborate structures, they practice animal husbandry with aphids, they have community nurseries where they raise their children, but there are two things we have they don't. They don't record their history and they have no form of art at all. They live only for the present. They store food for the future, but the past is of no concern to them. They are intelligent animal automatons.
Is that where Americans are heading. Ants fight wars and often win. They have complicated supply lines and in the animal kingdom they are a force to be reckoned with. So is this the future of America, the ability to build and make things, fight wars and live as if we have no past. Rap and Rock will be around a while, but will anyone understand the history of these art forms or any art form?
For us Americans "Welcome to the 21st Century."

You will be assimilated!

New From Nepal

A lot of people have been sceptical of the Communist Party of Nepal(Maoist). Will the party survive this arrangement? The party leadership is convinced it will. Only time will tell.
From:
http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/MAOIST_ REVOLUTION/

Finally the cabinet decided the date of CA Polls that would be held on 22nd November. The 12 point agreement was made on 7 Manasir 062. In order to establish a democratic setup in the country. By this historical agreement, Communist Party Of Nepal (Maoist) who launched a people's war for ten year came to an understanding with other seven parliamentarian parties. Only that resulted the People's movement-II to a definite goal.Consequently the feudal king fell on the ground and the people got victory over him. By that movement the people gave a strong message to the leaders to form a constituent assembly through the electoral process. Unlike this, the then ruling parties couldn't take a bold decision to form a new government including the representatives of Maoist in time. Truly speaking, they failed to implement the Baluwatar understanding in which Chairman Prachanda represented the summit talks in order to felicitate the peace process. But, the parties delayed to go ahead practically and it couldn't ratify the constitution within fixed schedule and the process of making a new constitution was delayed. There's no doubt, the government couldn't hold the election by mid June which was the expected time for the people. Only the growing pressure of civic society and Nepali people forced the political parties to form a new government and on 1 April 2007 the eight party government was formed. CA Poll is the main agenda of CPN (Maoist) and in any cost the party was not involved in the cabinet no political party was ready to fix the date of election. The royalist imperialists want to make this process and they are not in favor of establishing peace in the country. These unwanted forces are hatching conspiracy and they want to create the problem in Madesh, Terai and hilly region by different names and organizations. In this situation the date of CA polls is declared. The minimum agenda of Nepali people is to establish a republican setup. Hence, CPN(Maoist) intends to declare a republican country from the parliament, but other parties are not still clear about it. In the one hand, parties should be clear about holding the election in time and on the other hand they ought to be ready for clearing the ways for the election. Right now, regressive forces are hatching conspiracies against the CA polls. Therefore, we ought to fight against any sort of foreign interference that stops to achieve our national goal. In the next side, unless the government addresses the problems of Madesh, Terai, sex, aboriginal people the country can't hold the election in time. Now, everyone wants the election of CA polls ought to be held through free and fair manner. For this, the government should create a constructive environment. No party should misuse the state power. The election affected by power won't be accepted by the people. The government should think about it in time. For the first time, Nepali people would get a chance to use their vote for making their own constitution. This election helps us make a new Nepal. Every racial group represent after the election and we shouldn't marginalize any group, caste etc. The present government should show strong desire for holding the election in time. The parties should be united for completing this historical duty. Let us be hopeful, we achieve our goal and it won't turn to fake drama. For this, we should pressure the government.

Can You Pass the Acid Test?:

New Book now available
Can You Pass the Acid Test?:A History of the Drug and Sex Counterculture and Its Censorship in the 20th Century
Here is a comprehensive reference book to songs, publications and objects of art that reflected the last century’s counter-cultures as well as government and mainstream press attempts to censor them.
Now available at Amazon.com and through Barnes & Noble.
The book can be ordered at www,Barnesandnoble.com

Sex sells and the subject is brought up several times. But this book is more of a documented history of the US drug and porn culture. It does not have a lot of gratuitous sex or drug use portrayed in it as in Memoirs or a Drugged-Up, Sex-Crazed Yippie, my fictional novel. This is more of a resourse book and will come in handy for those who want to argue about America's drug laws. It is heavily researched and has some amazing information in it. It is political and serious. So it's a completely different book, but I think many readers will want to get a copy. For one thing it exposes the racism of drug laws. It also shows how the narcotics population has remained nearly unchanged since the early 1900s. Some great arguments against our "war on drugs" can be found in this book.

The Communist Party of India continues to grow

Lately the Communist Party of India is making headlines across the world as their “people’s War” has continued to spread and intensify, with attacks on police station and outright battles with military authorities. They have control of half of India’s 28 states.
Not long ago the Indian government was more concerned with helping the government in Nepal wipe out its Maoist insurgency. Now India faces a real political and military threat to its future. For example:

The Christian Science Monitor, August 22, 2006, reported
Maoist rebels spread across rural India India plans to deploy paramilitary forces to deal with growing insurgency. By Anuj Chopra Correspondent of The Christian Science Monitor ULGARA, INDIA – A sprawling, yet largely hidden, war is raging in India's rural countryside, and after years of ignoring it, Delhi is signalling a military counteroffensive. India's Maoist insurgents, also called Naxalites, have expanded their area of operations from just four states 10 years ago to half of India's 28 states today. In 165 districts, they claim to run parallel "People's" governments. This year alone, fighting between rebel and government forces has claimed more than 500lives - many civilian.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh turned heads recently by calling the Naxalites, "The single biggest internal security challenge ever faced by our country."
To tackle the threat, Delhi is planning to deploy 11 battalions of paramilitary police and is sponsoring opposing vigilante groups who espouse violence. But issues of underdevelopment and poor human rights are the real oxygen of the Maoist insurgency, not local police weakness, argue critics of the new government approach.
"India has failed to rein in the Maoists simply because there are no quick-fix solutions to the problems arising out of [bad governance]," says Suhas Chakma, the director of the Asian Centre for Human Rights (ACHR), Delhi.
Hardest hit in this conflict are poor, tribal residents of rural villages like Ulgara, a hamlet in the rural interior of Jharkhand state. Naxalites pass through often, stopping sometimes to demand food, which villagers quietly admit they give out of fear. Five years ago, in the wee hours of the night, nearly 100 guerrillas attacked the village, torching 19-year-old Rakesh Kumar's house. His father was shot and his family beaten.
"We're stuck in the middle - between the Naxalites and the state," says Mr. Kumar, explaining that it's neither safe to support the Maoists nor turn them away.
Many beleaguered villagers have fled the area. Others, including the Kumars, are scrounging together money to move to the city. In parts of India, fearful villagers have reportedly abandoned whole villages.
Aiming to bring the fight to cities
Recent reports suggest that this rural insurgency is slowly, yet inexorably, spreading into four more states, with what analysts see is a long-term plan to extend their red corridor - called the "Compact Revolutionary Zone" - throughout India. Their ultimate stated goal is to capture India's cities and overthrow Parliament. In an interview last year with The Telegraph newspaper, a national daily, a member of the Maoist Central Committee named "Comrade Dhruba" said, "Our mass base is getting ready. After five years, we will launch our strikes."
While most observers doubt the Naxalites can directly threaten urban India, the guerrilla attacks are becoming more audacious - and lethal. Rebels attack in large numbers - much like the Maoists of Nepal, with whom they're suspected to have links - often to overwhelm their target.Attacks on police forces, train hijacking, and brutal beheadings are common. Just last month, India witnessed its worst spasm of Naxalite violence. In the thick of the night, nearly 800 armed Maoists sprayed bullets, killing 32, in an anti-Maoist relief camp in the Indian state of Chattisgarh - an impoverished region most affected by Naxalite violence.
The CPI has it’s own website called People’s March.

Face it Bush: You blew it!!!

needed in the first place. And now the his lackey’s in congress are beginning to oppose the war not because it was a criminal action, but because it isn’t working. For example, in The Wichita Eagle, Jul. 14, 2007:

Bush deflects criticism on Iraq war
By DEB RIECHMANN
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush took his critics to task Saturday for using the poor marks the Iraqi government received on a progress report this week as reason to argue that the war is lost.'
Bush acknowledged the Iraqis received "unsatisfactory" marks on eight benchmarks, including failure to prepare for local elections or to pass a law to share oil revenues among Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. But the president said "satisfactory" grades the Iraqis received in eight other areas - like providing three Iraqi brigades for the military offensive under way and providing $10 billion of their money for reconstruction - were cause for optimism.
"Our strategy is built on the premise that progress on security will pave the way for political progress," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "This report shows that conditions can change, progress can be made, and the fight in Iraq can be won."

Well Prez. Bush, the problem is that you should be loosing this war or we’ll just get into another one. That seems to have been the pattern since the Reagan Revolution. There was Grenada, Panama and the first Iraq war. Now starting wars have become a way of life.

There are those in Iraq who have no intention of ever giving up their sovereignty. The following was translated by Google and may contain some errors.

Can the Skunk Tiahrt pull it off again

It’s almost election time and the Democrats have yet to come up with a decent candidate to defeat our own Kansas Rep. Todd Tiahrt. The asshole is like a sitting duck. He’s done virtually nothing for his constituents and spend a lot of their tax money on himself. He takes his whole family to vacations in Europe an Hawaii at the tax payers expense. All his votes are based on which business gives him the most money.
He has become so corrupted only the most feeble minded Kansans can really believe he works for us. The only thing keeping him in office at present is the ineptness of the Democratic Party to put up a strong campaign and get rid of this embarrassment once and for all.

Todd’s done a lot for Kansas.

Don’t worry, what Todd can’t get at home he can easily afford on South Broadway.
