What does it take to be a motivational speaker

From

, Wichita Peace and Freedom Party Examiner;

Wichita will be the host of several big name “motivational speakers” July 26.
The speakers will include Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Forbes, Bill Self, Bill Cosby, Lou Holtz and Terry Bradshaw. This event will be held in the Intrust Bank Arena, here in Wichita.  According to The Wichita Eagle, this is an all day motivational business seminar, with a "message of hope and inspiration."
Some of these people are businessmen, such as Steve Forbes. He’s a millionaire and people in this country still revere a millionaire as a person who is wise and knowledgeable, because they have bilked the system for all it’s got. Millionaires and billionaires are much like a modern day aristocracy.
Then there is Colin Powell. He is known for killing 100,000 Iraqi people to replace a king to Kuwait. I’m not too inspired by that, but this is a military town and any military leader who kills a lot of foreign people (necessary or not) is a hero to many Wichitans.

While Rudy Giuliani was popular with the middle class New Yorkers, he severely cut funding for the homeless. He tried to run poor people out of the city and cracked down on small time petty crime. He also arrested street artists for painting unflattering pictures of him.
He ran the city like a dictator and according to Wikipedea;
“Giuliani mentioned that freedom does not mean that "people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do and how you do it".
Others, such as Bill Cosby might actually have something inspiring to say. They aren’t all bad.
