Culture war? We’re ready!

Today in The Wichita Eagle, a blogitorial said:

Wichita education activist Cindy Duckett thinks social conservatives will retain their majority on the State Board of Education. As weve seen before, I think conservative voters are motivated; moderates arent, she told The Lawrence Journal-World. Why does she think that? Where do conservatives gather? They gather in church, she said.

"Yes they do have an advantage with the unity of their churches as a political tool. They can coordinate untold number of right-wing religious zombies to vote for those who appoint complete idiots to office, such as Kansas Education Commissioner Bob Corkins. Then elect such dumb asses as Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline, who has wasted countless hours trying to arrest underage teens for having sex and lets not forget Todd Tiahrt, whos only skill as our representative in the US Congress is to get around campaign finance laws so he can fleece us till we bleed. These conservative voters have made fools of us, destroying our education system, and passing unnecessary laws to push their religion down our throats.

But there are plenty of people in Kansas who are sick of these people, whether they use their churches as a political tool or not.

This shows once again, why we should make every effort to confront and try to expose the mythical nature of far-right evangelicalism. It is backward superstition that is used to replace science in the schools and common sense in the legislature.

Rightwing celebrities such as Ann Coulter have called many of us (under the liberal label) part of the Godless Americans. She blames us for keeping the Democrats out of office. Her only mistake is that the Democratic Party has kept us (The far-left, according to her on a talk show) out. The so called Far-left has no party in this system and the Democrats do not represent us (yes I consider myself far-left).

So let the culture war begin, both in Wichita and across the nation. Were ready Ann Coulter!

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) supports attacks on Israel

Joint Military Communiqué:
Two rockets fired at Zionist military concentrations in the Nahal al-Awz area.

The Martyr Ra'id Muslih Unit of the Brigades of the Patriotic Resistance, the detachment of the Martyr Ayman Jawdah of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the Martyr Isma`il Sa`idani Unit of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades bombarded a concentration of occupation forces and vehicles in the Nahal al-Awz area east of the city of Ghazza with two advanced rockets at precisely 10:55am today, Wednesday, 12 July 2006. The roar of explosions were heard inside the target area and Apache helicopters flew into the skies over the area, but the detachment withdrew safely. Afterwards Zionist army radio acknowledged a two-rocket strike. This operation comes in response to the terror of the Zionists, to their hideous crime in the ash-Shaykh Ridwan area in which seven victims were martyred, to the continuous bombardment by their engines of death on the northern and eastern parts of our defiant Ghazza district, and to their military penetration into the al-Qararah area.We in the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, and the Patriotic Resistance Brigades declare that resistance is a strategic means for achieving our legitimate national rights and the total liberation of all the land of our country. We declare our total preparedness to resist the occupation and its aggression. We pledge that the enemy's crimes will not go unpunished!Homeland or Death! Victory or martyrdom! We will surely win!12 July 2006.Source:http://www.pflp.ps/articles.php?actionfiltered=ViewArt&cid=3&nid=20060712_00

PFLP: the operation to capture Zionist soldiers in south Lebanon is a new slap at the enemy leadership and an _expression of real support by Hizballah for the Palestinian People. The Popular Front for the liberation of Palestine sent a letter to Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah, the General Secretary of Hizballah, in which it expressed the pride of the Popular Front, of its Political Bureau, its Central Committee, its cadres, members, and the masses of our people in the Lebanese Resistance, which sent a message from all its members to the Zionist troops expressing real, fraternal, and militant support by Hizballah for the Palestinian people and their patriotic and Islamic movement, and for our blockaded people in proud, steadfast Ghazza. The Popular Front stressed that this operation by Hizballah delivers a new slap at the enemy leaders and their unprecedented arrogance and bluster. Get ready for World War III

Although the new century is only a few years old, already we seem to be on the brink of World War III. Israel has just invaded Lebanon after fierce fighting with and lashing out at the Palestinians in the Gaza.
President George Bush has done nothing to ease the tension. He has simply praised Israel. That war is starting to spill over into the entire Middle East at a time when there are already wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not since World War II have so many countries in a single area gone to war or threatened to go to war. This may be the first big war of the century. With a proper and intelligent US president, this might all be avoidable. But with the idiot Bush in charge, it is only likely to get worse.
Even the economic indicators are and investors are expecting trouble. Not since the two world wars has this planet been in such a mess.

According to the BBC, 14 July:
“Israel has stepped up its attacks on Lebanon with air raids on southern suburbs in Beirut - known as a stronghold of Hezbollah militants.
Jets also targeted a power plant, the road to the airport and the highway from Beirut to the Syrian capital, Damascus, Lebanese officials said.
The offensive, which overall has left more than 50 dead, follows the capture of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah.
The escalation of violence has sparked international calls for restraint. “

Get ready for new vets boys. Your outfit will always have new recruits as long as I’m in charge.

Local paper attacks fireworks again

Once again, out local news paper, The Wichita Eagle, Jul. 6, attack the time honored tradition of fireworks. Fireworks have been around since the founding of this country and have been used to celebrate the Fourth of July. And while they can be both destructive and dangerous, there is no reason to ban or restrict them.
If they are really so dangerous, why weren’t they banned a century ago? Why now? This town and state is already quiet and boring enough, banning what people traditionally do for fun, even if there’s a safety gain, is just plain stupid.
But when you’re trying to run the most bland and boring state possible, banning fireworks is just one more step.
The Eagle led out with the usual scary sub-headlines: “A homemade disaster, Property destroyed, Injuries on the increase,” and of course the classic “A holiday turns tragic.”
The real tragedy would be a ban on fireworks.

North Korea has missiles…Oh my….How do we invade now?

After being called part of the “axis of evil” by our President George Bush and seeing one of the other “axis of evil” countries invaded and occupied, while another remains threatened with the same predicament, North Korea(Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea) built nuclear weapons and is now testing missiles to deliver those weapons.
According to The Wichita Eagle, July 5, U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said the (UN Security) council must send a "strong and unanimous signal" that North Korea's missile test-launch was unacceptable.

Of course, invading an occupying two other countries and arming ourselves to the teeth with nuclear weapons and missiles of our own, is not a threat to world peace. Just ask anyone living in Iraq.
But North Korea has no reason to fear a country such as ours. What harm would we wish on them with all our friendly jesters? Or to put it another way: “How dare they try and defend themselves from the Bush empire!

My gawd! What if North Korea gets one of these? They might be able to defend themselves. Our invasion of them might get dangerous!

Obama and the Democrats have bombed again

Once again, the Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot, trying to sound like Republicans. Or maybe that is the results of a two-party system where the winner takes all and the losers get nothing.
Now, according to The Wichita Eagle, June 30, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said he thinks Democrats should reach out to churchgoing Americans, saying that if Democrats “don't reach out to evangelical Christians and other religious Americans and tell them what we stand for, Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons will continue to hold sway.”
There are progressive people in various Christian Churches that are willing to work with people on the left. They oppose the war in Iraq and have done a lot of work on such issues. But what about the majority who have hammered away at abortion rights, gay marriage, support of the war and waging a relentless war against non-Christians and their rights in this society?
Yes they are the majority, especially the evangelicals. For those of us who are not Christians, this is just one more step to helping the religious right form a theocracy in this country.
So if the Democrats start courting the enemies of all non-Christians, WHO WILL support us. Will there be anyone for us to vote for in the next elections? So far it doesn’t look like it.
Obama isn’t alone. Many Democrats are jumping on his bandwagon. For example, according to The Wichita Eagle, Jun. 29:
"Keeping the environment pristine and green and passing it on, I think that's a faith issue," said Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C. Some speeches even had the air of a Baptist revival, with supporters shouting, "Amen" and "All right, preach it!"

It’s nice that these people are concerned about the environment, but that still doesn’t help the minority of this country who see Christianity as a religion with a past history of crimes against humanity, including burning of Witches, heretics, the Crusades, and our present war against the Mid-East Moslems.

What will the Democrats to next? Will they reach out to the Ku Klux Klan?
Once again, the left is excluded in US politics and forced to defend itself.
There is a culture war and we will fight it, here in the US.
